The so called Dead Series from Jenni Tapanila, a photographer from Finland deals with a row of under all circumstances real looking suicide pictures, on some of them Jenni acting by herself, on others she has her protagonists playing dead.

While the earlier ones in the series have their very own ‘aesthetics of death’ with deep red (fake) blood running out of the mouth, the later ones are a touch too violent and too direct for my taste. But decide for yourself! You’ll find them at http://suzi9mm.deviantart.com/.

Damien Hirst’s Killer’s Hobby Room is more like the scenario of a psycho killer, showing a nude blonde rolling in a tub covered with deep red pig blood. He describes his works simply with “real blood, real girl, real nude!” and can be proud of it, isn’t it easy to find a good actress for such kind of photo shooting eventually.
